In addition, the “Nights” program includes about 60 concerts, 30 film screenings and film lectures, dozens of performances, performances, interactive programs and scientific shows.

As part of the “Behind the Scenes” project, visitors will have the opportunity to enter museum spaces that are otherwise inaccessible and learn the secrets of museum exhibitions. The excursions will be conducted by professional experts, curators, and media personalities. The project involves the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Petrovka, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, VDNKh, the Moscow Zoo, the Polytechnic Museum and many others.

On the night of the event, many venues will prepare special thematic programs. For example, the A. S. Pushkin Museum invites you to the concert “Favorite Melodies of the Screen” performed by the State Brass Band of Russia. In the exhibition hall “Gallery on Kashirka” the Mayakovsky Museum will hold a lecture “Mayakovsky and the cinema of the 1920s”, and will also show the film “The Young Lady and the Hooligan” based on the script of the Soviet poet with him in the title role. The exhibition “Cinema and Fashion. “Night at the Museum” will not be limited to art spaces and will offer guests of all ages a rich parallel program in parks, squares and pedestrian areas of the capital.

On Theater Square, in the Hermitage Garden and MUZEON Park, “Night Stations” will operate from noon until midnight, each of which will be dedicated to one of the film genres - feature films, documentaries and animation. In addition to film screenings, guests will enjoy master classes and lectures selected by the curators of the stations’ special program. From 12:00 to 15:00 there is a children's program, and from 15:00 to 00:00 - the main one.

The children's program of the "art" station (Theater Square) is supervised by the project "Made in Cardboard", and the main program is collected by the Cinema Museum - one of the young museums with a unique collection dedicated to Russian film culture. The educational project “Moscow Through the Eyes of an Engineer” is responsible for the “documentary” station (MUZEON Park), and the Animation Film School-Studio is responsible for the “animation” station (Hermitage Garden).

This year, the all-Russian event Night of Museums falls on the night of May 20-21. Every year in Moscow, more than 200 museums, galleries, exhibition halls and art centers take part in this celebration of art and culture. Many of them not only open their doors to visitors at night, but also prepare special projects.

The Institute of Russian Realistic Art will have free admission all day from 11 am to 12 midnight, and many special programs await guests.

Recently, IRRI carried out a complete reconstruction of its halls, updated the permanent exhibition and organized an architectural course for children, so it is no coincidence that for the Night of Museums the organizers chose the theme “Museum of the Future”, inviting the famous Spanish architect Antonio Ortiz to give a lecture (bureau Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos).

The public talk with his participation will begin at 19:00. Ortiz will talk about renovation and redesign projects, including the renovation of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz admittedly “restored to its former glory.” How do modern technologies affect the design and construction of museums? What determines a person’s perception of a museum space? How did architects imagine museums at the beginning of the new millennium, and what did they get right?

Together with Antonio Ortiz, these questions will be answered by Russian experts in the field of architects, as well as those for whom the museums of the future are being created - children participating in the IRRI architectural course “From Design to Object.”

At 17:00, the architects of the “Horses on the Balcony” club will hold a master class for children and adults “I am a museum exhibit,” where guests will have the opportunity to become a work of art in the museum themselves.

Also, from five in the evening to eleven at night, an interactive quest tour “The Hundred-Year Secret of Tsindel Castle” will take place every hour. IRRI, MosPromArt and PSN Group will conduct a tour of the territory of the former Tsindel factory, and now the Novospassky business district, on the territory of which, in the building of a former boiler house, IRRI is located today. The journey through the ancient cotton-printed manufactory will take place in the format of a theatrical performance. Together, the quest participants will unravel the secrets of the former owner of the factory, its red brick buildings and learn the secrets of paintings from the IRRI collection.

Also on the evening's program is the Art Market fair - from early morning until late at night there will be a fair with the participation of Russian designers, artists, photographers, who are united by a boundless love for prints and designs on handmade products. Many of their works are inspired by the patterns that brought world fame to the Partnership calico-printed manufactory " Emil Tsindel».

At 13-00, 16-00 and 22.00 guests will enjoy free sightseeing tours of the main exhibition and the “Stories” exhibition. IRRI art historians will conduct free one-hour tours of the completely updated permanent exhibition, as well as the temporary exhibition “Stories”, dedicated to the history of masterpieces by Alexander Deineka, Igor Grabar, Arkady Plastov, Yuri Pimenov, Viktor Popkov, Geliy Korzhev and others. For the first time in many years, the Institute of Russian Realistic Art presents in Moscow the textbook work of Pyotr Ossovsky “Three Generations” (1960), stored in the Perm State Art Gallery, as well as the painting “Bather” (1951, State Tretyakov Gallery) by Alexander Deineka, which has long been for restoration and not exhibited.
