Many people know such a wonderful group as the “Turetsky Choir”, as well as the new project of its illustrious leader called SOPRANO. Let's get to know their participants better.

Meet the team

"Turetsky Choir", the composition of which will be presented below, is a Russian musical group led by M. Turetsky. The uniqueness of the group is that its ten vocalists represent the entire diversity of male singing voices. The Turetsky Choir performs various a cappella compositions in ten languages and can easily replace an entire orchestra with its voices.

The ancestor of the illustrious group should be considered the choir at the Moscow synagogue, where in the late eighties Turetsky’s group delighted listeners with the performance of liturgical Jewish compositions. And now at the performances of the “Turetsky Choir” they sound both world hits in unusual arrangements and songs of their own composition.

"Turetsky Choir": female composition

SOPRANO is a female project by M. Turetsky, consisting of 9 wonderful soloists, selected as a result of a serious casting from hundreds of applicants. The group, like the Turetsky Choir, consists of a whole variety of singing voices, only in this case female: from coloratura soprano (the highest) to mezzo (the lowest).

In addition, each of the soloists has her own singing style: from academic to jazz and folk. That’s why SOPRANO’s repertoire includes rock, retro, classical, jazz, and modern music. Along with hits, the female composition of the “Turetsky Choir” also performs original songs. Let's imagine charming girls:

  • Daria Lvova - academic performance.
  • Anna Korolik - folklore genre.

The "Turetsky Choir", whose composition was discussed in the article, is a unique Russian musical group that performs its compositions a cappella only live, without the use of phonograms. The listeners were pleased to get acquainted with Mikhail's new project - the women's SOPRANO.

Mikhail Borisovich Turetsky. Born on April 12, 1962 in Moscow. Russian musician, founder and producer of the art groups “Turetsky Choir” and SOPRANO. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2010).

Mikhail Turetsky was born on April 12, 1962 in Moscow into a Jewish family of immigrants from Belarus.

Father - Boris Borisovich Epstein, was born into the family of a blacksmith in the Mogilev province. At the age of 18, after the death of his father, he left for Moscow, where he studied at a pedagogical college, and then at the Academy of Foreign Trade. He worked as a foreman in a silk-screen printing workshop at a factory near Moscow.

Mother - Bella (Beilya) Semyonovna Turetskaya, worked as a nanny in a kindergarten. Her family was destroyed by the Nazis during the war.

Mikhail’s parents met just before the war in the town of Pukhovichi near Minsk. They went through the entire war: their father went to the front from his second year at the Academy in the first days of the war, he was a participant in the breakthrough of the Leningrad blockade, his mother was a nurse at the evacuation hospital in Gorky.

Mikhail is a late child. At the time of his birth, his father was 50, and his mother was 40. Since his son’s birthday coincided with Cosmonautics Day, they wanted to name the child Yuri - in honor. But the father insisted on the name Mikhail. The family decided to give the son his mother’s surname - since at that time not a single representative of the surname was alive.

Has an older brother, Alexander (the difference between them is 15 years).

As Mikhail recalled, his father, even in old age, was an energetic and cheerful man who felt great: even at the age of 70 he worked, went to the skating rink and the dance hall.

The family lived modestly, in a 14-meter room in a communal apartment at the Belorusskaya metro station.

Already in early childhood, Mikhail showed musical abilities. At the age of 3, he was already singing, and the little musician’s first concert platform was a chair on which the boy willingly sang the then popular song “Lilac Fog” for his older brother and his friends.

Soon a second room in a communal apartment and a piano appeared in Mikhail’s house. Noticing his extraordinary abilities, the parents decided to hire a piano teacher for their son. But the classes lasted only four months: the teacher declared the child’s absolute lack of talent.

Then Mikhail Turetsky began to attend a music school for the piccolo flute (small flute). In parallel with the flute, the father took his son to the boys’ chapel.

One of the visits of his father’s cousin, the famous conductor Rudolf Barshai, turned out to be fateful for Turetsky’s creative future. Having heard at a family dinner that Mikhail was playing the flute, the maestro offered him a consultation with one of his professional friends. Having learned that his nephew also sings, his uncle asked the boy to perform a song. Afterwards, Rudolf Borisovich made a call to the director of the Choir School named after A.V. Sveshnikov with a request to listen to Mikhail without bias. Turetsky was eleven years old at that time, while the average age of applicants was seven. Despite this, the boy was soon accepted.

After graduating from college, having passed a serious competition, Mikhail Turetsky entered the conducting and choral department of the Gnessin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute. In 1985, having received a diploma with honors, he continues his postgraduate studies and is engaged in symphony conducting. Regularly attends rehearsals of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic under the direction of E. A. Mravinsky, observing the work of the maestro. Soon Turetsky became a choirmaster and actor at the Theater of Musical Art under the direction of Yuri Sherling, where he seriously immersed himself in the history of synthetic art.

After graduating from the institute, in 1989, Mikhail Turetsky began recruiting soloists for the men's choir at the Moscow Choral Synagogue. All members of the group had professional musical education. The main goal of the choir was the revival of Jewish sacred music in the USSR. The group's repertoire consisted of Jewish liturgical music, which had not been performed since 1917. According to tradition, the musicians sang all works a cappella, that is, without musical accompaniment, which required high professional training.

In just eighteen months, the choir under the direction of Mikhail Turetsky prepared an extensive program of Jewish spiritual and secular music, which it successfully performed in Israel, America, Germany, Great Britain, France, Canada, Spain (the “Por Me Espiritu” festival in the company of world music stars: Placido Domingo, Isaac Stern, Zubin Mehta).

The group quickly became in demand abroad, but in Russia in the early 90s, it was difficult for artists to find their audience. In 1993, the musicians were briefly supported by LogoVAZ (Boris Berezovsky) and the President of the Russian Jewish Congress, Vladimir Gusinsky.

In 1995-1996, the team is divided into two parts: one remains in Moscow, the second goes to the USA (Miami, Florida) to work under a contract. Mikhail Turetsky has to lead both groups at the same time.

The experience gained by the group while working in the USA significantly influenced the choir’s further repertoire policy and understanding of the syncretic nature of the present show. The artists immersed themselves in the atmosphere of American culture with its characteristic entertainment, dynamics, brightness of musical colors, as well as everything that is included in the modern concept of action. It is in the USA, among famous Broadway musicals and first-class musicians, that the variety direction of the project is being formed for the first time.

Thanks to a joint concert tour with, in 1997-1998. The public of the former USSR also becomes acquainted with the work of the group.

In 1998, the choir received the status of a city municipal group.

In the period from 1999 to 2002, the choir had its own repertoire performance (“Mikhail Turetsky’s Vocal Show”) at the Moscow State Variety Theater under the direction of , which takes place twice a month. On this stage the presentation of the choir to the general public of Moscow took place.

In 2003, Turetsky discovered his universal concept in music, leaving a mark on the history of world and domestic show business not only as a professional musician, but also as the creator of such a phenomenon in mass musical culture as the “art group.” From that moment on, his team acquired its modern name - "Art group Turetsky Choir". Now it is an ensemble of 10 soloists, in which all existing types of male voices are represented: from the lowest (bass profundo) to the highest (tenor altino). The rebirth of the band opens up broader horizons for musicians. The choir's repertoire is noticeably expanding, going beyond the boundaries of one national culture; Jewish prayers and songs still remain in the repertoire, but no longer form its basis.

The essence of the concept of “art group” lies in the limitlessness of creative possibilities within one musical group. The art group's repertoire covers music from different countries, styles and eras: from spiritual chants and opera classics to jazz, rock music and urban folklore. Within the framework of the new phenomenon, all kinds of performance options coexist: a cappella (that is, without accompaniment), singing with instrumental accompaniment, show performances combining vocals with elements of original choreography.

Turetsky Choir - With you forever

The new style in which the Turetsky Choir works is partly defined by the concept of classical crossover (synthesis of elements of pop, rock and electronic music), however, in the creative activity of the art group there are trends that go beyond this concept: polyphonic singing and voice imitation musical instruments, interactivity and the introduction of happening elements (for example, audience participation in a dance and song program). Thus, each concert number turns into a “mini-musical”, and the concert into a show with extraordinary energy. The repertoire of the “Turetsky Choir” still includes masterpieces of classical music in their original form. Mikhail himself not only sings, but also brilliantly hosts and directs his own show. Today the team has no analogues in the whole world.

Since 2004, the Turetsky Choir has begun extensive concert activities, began its social life and experienced a rapid rise in its pop career, which is accompanied by many awards and a constant increase in the number of fans. The group performs at the best concert venues in the country and the world. Among them: the Olympic Stadium (Moscow) and the Ice Palace (St. Petersburg), the Oktyabrsky Great Concert Hall (St. Petersburg), the Albert Hall (England), the largest halls in the USA - Carnegie Hall (New York), Dolby Theater (Los Angeles), Jordan Hall (Boston).

In 2005, for the 15th anniversary of the team, Mikhail Turetsky wrote an autobiography book "Choirmaster"- about his life, work and choir colleagues.

In 2008, the Turetsky Choir attracted four sold-out crowds at the State Kremlin Palace, and at the request of the audience, gave an additional sold-out fifth concert at the Luzhniki Sports Palace, which set a kind of record.

Despite the fact that the group has existed for many years, its core is still made up of musicians with whom M. Turetsky has known and been friends since his student years or since the formation of the choir.

In 2010, he established a new project - women's - called "SOPRANO". This unique project, which covers works of world musical culture of any complexity, was created over the course of two years. Hundreds of applicants competed for the right to sing in the group, and as a result of several castings, the best of the best remained in the project. “SOPRANO” represents all existing female singing voices: from the highest (coloratura soprano) to the lowest (mezzo). Each soloist presents her own singing style: from academic to folk and pop-jazz. In one concert of the art group "SOPRANO Turetsky" classics and rock, jazz and disco, fashionable modern music and retro hits are heard. Over the past year, the team has made a powerful leap towards original songs and achieved high results.

The girls performed with their compositions at the festivals “Song of the Year”, “New Wave”, “Slavic Bazaar”, “Five Stars”. The project’s professional biography includes annual tours in Russia and abroad (USA, Canada, Switzerland, Israel, etc.).

In 2017, Mikhail Turetsky became the Laureate of the 2016 Russian Government Prize in the field of culture and was awarded the Order of Friendship - For services to the development of national culture and many years of fruitful activity.

Mikhail Turetsky's height: 170 centimeters.

Personal life of Mikhail Turetsky:

His first wife is Elena, his classmate at the Gnessin Institute. They got married against the wishes of their parents in 1984. In the same 1984, their daughter Natalya was born.

His wife Elena died tragically in an accident. In August 1989, together with his friend and teacher Vladimir Semenyuk, Turetsky went to Klaipeda. At night, the musician received a telegram from his older brother with the words “Call urgently. Sasha". The next morning, Mikhail learned about a terrible tragedy: his father-in-law, his wife and her brother died in a car accident on the Minsk-Moscow highway.

He recalled: “My first wife’s father was driving a car with her and her brother from Lithuania, on her sister’s birthday. According to eyewitnesses, on the 71st kilometer of the Minsk-Moscow highway, the car drove into oncoming traffic, hit a bus, and then collided head-on with a truck and killed all three."

In 2001, he had an illegitimate daughter, Isabelle (Bella), who lives with her mother Tatyana Borodovskaya in Germany. They met in 2000, when Mikhail and his choir were on tour in Germany. During a concert in Frankfurt, he saw an incredibly beautiful woman in the front row and, shocked by her appearance, jumped off the stage and invited the lady to dance. Then he asked for a phone number. Thus began their short romance, from which a daughter was born in December 2001. Bella inherited not only her famous father's appearance, but also his musicality - she plays the violin.

Tatyana Borodovskaya - mother of Mikhail Turetsky’s illegitimate daughter

The second wife is Liana, she is Armenian. The story of Mikhail and Liana began in 2001 during the Turetsky Choir’s tour of America. Liana's father received an offer to organize a concert for the group. It was love at first sight. Four months of mostly telephone communication was enough for Liana to exchange her comfortable American life for an unusual life in Russia. At the time they met, Liana was a woman with a five-year-old child - she had a daughter. Mikhail Turetsky said: “And I saw in her, first of all, a caring mother. Later, when we had more daughters, this opinion only strengthened. For my wife, children always come first, and I accepted that.”

The couple had two daughters: Emmanuelle (born 2005) and Beata (born 2009).

In 2014, Mikhail became a grandfather: Natalya gave birth to a son, Ivan Gilevich. And in 2016, Natalya gave birth to his granddaughter Elena.

Turetsky's eldest daughter Natalya is a lawyer and works in the office of the Turetsky Choir. Sarina graduated from MGIMO, Faculty of International Journalism, and works as a music producer.

In 1989, a graduate of the Institute named after. Gnessins Mikhail Turetsky was sent to organize a men's choir at the Moscow Choral Synagogue. Mikhail Turetsky gathered a group of like-minded people who wanted to revive Jewish sacred music in the USSR (all members of the choir had a musical education, were graduates or students of music educational institutions). This direction practically did not develop during the Soviet period. The exception was the concert in 1945 in the Moscow synagogue of tenor Mikhail Alexandrovich. The first rehearsals of the choir took place in September 1989, and the first public performance in the spring of 1990. The first tour took place in Kaliningrad and Tallinn. In the same year, concerts took place in Leningrad (the large hall of the conservatory) and in Moscow (in the synagogue). During this period, the American charitable organization "Joint" (known for its anti-Semitic campaign against "cosmopolitans" and accusations in the "Doctors' Case" in 1949 - 1952) was financing the group.
In 1991, the group toured in France and the UK. The group performed under the name "Jewish Chamber Choir". The tour aroused great interest, since it was the first time such a group had arrived from the USSR. 17 concerts were given in 15 days. In the summer of the same year, the choir went on tour to Israel. A performance in a synagogue in Jerusalem showed that the choir did not have enough repertoire, but the sound was much better than that of the cantor and choir from this synagogue. The president of the travel company "People Travel Club" Marina Kovaleva in 1991 accidentally heard a choir rehearsal at the Shannon airport in Dublin. This company has been a sponsor of the choir for several years. After a month and a half tour in the USA, the band wanted to move their performances from the synagogue to concert venues. However, this desire did not find support from the sponsors from the Joint. An “alternative” choir was created at the Moscow synagogue. However, not a single soloist from Mikhail Turetsky’s choir moved to the newly formed group. In 1993, Mikhail Turetsky was awarded the “Golden Crown of Cantors of the World” by the American Association of Musical Arts (only 8 people in the world have been awarded this distinction). With the help of Marina Kovaleva, in 1995 - 1996, a Jewish choir under the direction of Mikhail Turetsky sang in a synagogue in Miami. Some of the choir members remained in the USA, the other part remains in Moscow. By this time, almost all modern soloists had already appeared in the choir (with the exception of Boris Goryachev and Igor Zverev).
Interesting fact: during the tour in Chechnya (after the first Chechen war), the then Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Basayev, at that time the most famous terrorist in the world, was responsible for the safety of the artists (Kobzon and the choir). After finishing a joint tour with Kobzon in Russian cities, in March 1998 a concert was given in the Great Hall of the Conservatory in Moscow. The concert took place on Saturday, a day forbidden for any work in Judaism. For this reason, a conflict arose with the chief rabbi of the Moscow choral synagogue. The choir was forbidden to perform within the synagogue. The team found support from Moscow Mayor Yuri Mikhailovich Luzhkov. The choir became municipal. In 1997 - 1999 The group performed under the name "Moscow Jewish Choir". During this period, the repertoire begins to change. Along with traditional religious works, classical opera arias, works by Soviet and foreign composers, art songs and yard songs (for example, “Murka”) appear. In 2000, the choir performed on the stage of the Variety Theater. With the help of the oligarch Vladimir Gusinsky, who at that time was the head of the Russian Jewish Congress, the choir again received the opportunity to perform in the Moscow Choral Synagogue. In 2000-2001 There was a tour with Kobzon in Israel, and independent tours in the USA, Australia, Germany and Israel.
In 2002, Mikhail Turetsky was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
In 2003, the choir acquired its modern name: the Art Group “Turetsky Choir”. This happened during a concert dedicated to the Day of Ukraine and Russia. The repertoire of the group is also changing. Jewish liturgy (for example, "Kaddish" or "Kol Nidrei", songs in Yiddish and Hebrew form an essential, but not the main part of the program. Works of Western and Russian pop music, urban folklore (for example, "Murka"), opera arias, Orthodox liturgy appear (for example, the prayer “Our Father”) In his book “The Choir Master,” Mikhail Turetsky wrote that he did not immediately find an understanding of these changes among his colleagues in the group, but gradually all the soloists agreed with the change in the repertoire. In the same year, several members of the choir. (Apaykin, Kalan and Astafurov) left the team. Two new soloists were accepted - Boris Goryachev and Igor Zverev.
In January 2004, the concert “Ten Voices That Shook the World” took place at the Rossiya State Central Concert Hall with the participation of Russian pop stars (Larisa Dolina, Nikolai Baskov, Philip Kirkorov, etc.). In November 2004, the “When Men Sing” concerts took place in Israel (Haifa and Tel Aviv). Shortly after this, in early December 2004, the “When Men Sing” concerts took place at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses with the participation of Emma Chapplan and Gloria Gaynor.
In January 2005, a tour of US cities took place with the concert “When Men Sing” (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlantic City, Boston and Chicago), and in 2005-2006. - tour with the program “Born to Sing” in the cities of the CIS.

For more than a quarter of a century, the Russian musical group “Turetsky Choir” has been on the crest of success and delights music lovers. Ten soloists, led by the People's Artist of the Russian Federation, have found their way to the hearts of millions of fans not only with their impeccable performance and talent, but also with the fact that the group has no repertoire restrictions. The vocal group's arsenal includes world classic hits, rock compositions, jazz and folk songs.

The abandonment of soundtracks and “live” voices make each performance unique. The repertoire of the “Turetsky Choir” includes songs performed in 10 languages. More than 5 thousand appearances on stages in Russia, post-Soviet countries, Europe, Asia and America have made the group world famous.

Music

The group's debut took place in 1990, but the origins of creativity are deeper. The art group was formed towards the end of the 1980s at the choral synagogue in Moscow. At first, the repertoire included Jewish compositions and liturgical music. After a couple of years, the band’s ambitions grew, and the soloists expanded their genre repertoire with popular songs and music from different countries and eras, opera and rock compositions.

According to Mikhail Turetsky, who headed the group, to expand the circle of listeners, music from the last 4 centuries was included in the repertoire - from chanson to pop hits of the Soviet stage.

The debut concerts of the “Turetsky Choir” took place with the support of the Jewish charitable organization “Joint” and took place in Tallinn, Chisinau, Moscow, Leningrad and Kyiv. Interest in the Jewish musical tradition, which had died down after 1917, flared up with renewed vigor.

In 1991-92, the Turetsky Choir went on tour in Canada, France, Great Britain, America and Israel. In Toledo, Spain, the ensemble took part in a festival organized for the 500th anniversary of the Jewish exile, and took the stage with world stars Isaac Stern and.

In the mid-1990s, the Turetsky Choir split: one half remained in the Russian capital, the second moved to Miami, where the musicians worked under contract. The repertoire of the second half expanded with Broadway classics and jazz hits.

In 1997, vocalists under the leadership of Turetsky joined a farewell tour across the country and, together with the singer, gave over 100 concerts.

In 1999, the “Turetsky Choir” presented to the audience a repertoire performance called “Mikhail Turetsky’s Vocal Show.” The premiere took place on the stage of the Variety Theatre.

In 2002, Mikhail Turetsky received the title of “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”, and 2 years later the choir gave its first concert in the Rossiya Concert Hall. Also in 2004, at the National Person of the Year Award, the group’s program, entitled “Ten Voices that Shook the World,” was nominated as “Cultural Event of the Year.”

At the beginning of 2005, the Turetsky Choir went on a tour of America and gave concerts on the stages of concert halls in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago. In the same and next year, the vocalists visited hundreds of cities in Russia and the CIS with a new program called “Born to Sing.”

In 2007, the Turetsky Choir became the winner of the Record 2007 award, which was awarded to the ensemble for the album Great Music. The collection includes classical compositions.

In 2010-2011, the musicians went on the anniversary tour “20 years: 10 voices”, and in 2012, to mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s leader, a concert was held in the Kremlin Palace, in which, in addition to the choir, stars of Russian show business took part. In the same year, the ensemble presented fans with the song “The Smile of God Rainbow,” for which a video was recorded.

In the spring of 2014, Turetsky’s team presented music lovers with a show program staged by a choreographer. It was called "A Man's View of Love." To see the performance live, 19 thousand spectators gathered at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex stadium, watching what was happening on stage from interactive screens.

On Victory Day, the musicians gave a 2-hour concert on Poklonnaya Hill, attracting 150 thousand people. In April 2016, at the Kremlin Palace, the Turetsky Choir presented fans with an unforgettable show in honor of the group’s 25th anniversary, calling it “With you and forever.”

Compound

Over time, the composition of the art group changed, but the leader, Mikhail Turetsky, remained unchanged. He made his way to becoming the leader of the illustrious team after graduating from the Institute named after him in the mid-1980s. Gnesins. In 2007 and 2009, the art group was enriched by baritone tenor Konstantin Kabo and countertenor Vyacheslav Fresh. Both are native Muscovites.

Of those who left the group, music lovers remember Boris Voinov, who worked in the Turetsky Choir from its formation to 1993, tenor Vladislav Vasilkovsky (immigrated to the USA in 1996) and opera tenor Valentin Sukhodolets (left in 2009). And although each of the ten vocalists is a virtuoso soloist, together they form an amazing ensemble unity, a special sound, easily recognizable from the first sounds. The choir's repertoire includes more than 350 works of various genres: from opera arias to urban romances, from fragments of liturgical synagogue music to classical musicals, from jazz compositions to pop hits. Based on the geography of their performances, you can study the world map: Russia, USA, Australia, Canada, Europe, Israel,... The team can handle any venue: both chamber halls and stadiums. Mikhail Turetsky, the creator and artistic director of the choir, “remade” the academic choir into a popular art project.

Michael Turkish

Born in Moscow. He studied flute at a music school, and then immediately entered the fifth grade of the famous Sveshnikov Choir School. Then there were the conducting and choral department and graduate school at the Gnessin Institute. And during his studies, Mikhail worked as a driver, loader, regent, led a children's chapel and a political song ensemble, and in 1989 he created the men's choir of the Moscow Choral Synagogue, which he then transformed into the art group “Turetsky Choir”.

In 2002, Mikhail Turetsky was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, in 2004 - the title of "Person of the Year", in 2010 - the title of People's Artist of Russia. In 2005, Mikhail wrote an autobiography about his life, work and the history of the creation of the choir.

Alex Alexandrov

Born in Moscow. Sasha’s mother played the guitar professionally and sang beautifully. Alex took his first vocal lessons in the preschool group of the Big Children's Choir of Gostel-Radio. dent, toured with the choir. One of the youngest soloists, he is an old-timer in the Choir. He considers the Choir to be a major part of his life, and Mikhail Turetsky as a second father and senior comrade.

Alex is not only a soloist, but also an assistant choreographer, and he also brilliantly copies the voices of politicians, artists and can repeat the performance style of any pop singer. A fan of Western music, he feels especially confident in the pop directions of the group’s repertoire, performing solos in compositions of different styles. He believes in what he does, he has something to strive for, and he is interested in life.

Evgeniy Tulinov

Born in Moscow. He inherited his musical ear, ringing treble and excellent sense of rhythm from his father. From the age of 5 he studied music with a teacher, at the age of 7 he went to a music school to study piano, then to the music school at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and then to the Gnessin Institute. During my studies, I practiced a lot of vocals and learned to control my voice.

In 1984, he met Turetsky, together with him he participated in the creation of the Choir, and since 1991 he has been the deputy artistic director of the art group. The parts performed by Evgeniy are unforgettable for connoisseurs of the classics.
He has a bright and colorful dramatic tenor that captivates audiences with its strength, power and penetration. The plasticity of the voice makes it easy to move from the opera genre to the pop genre and back, sometimes within the same work.
His favorite project allows Evgeniy to reveal himself as an actor: sometimes tragic and dreamy, sometimes full of humor and movement, he made more than one theater cry for himself.
In 2007, Evgeny Tulinov was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Misha Kuznetsov

Born in Moscow. From the age of 6 he studied at a music school, and from the age of 8 he sang in the children's choir of the Bolshoi Theater. He graduated from the Gnessin Music College, then the Gnessin Institute. While studying at the institute, he met Turetsky and easily joined the team of the Turetsky Choir.
Mikhail has a unique, very high voice - at the junction of masculine and feminine. He can perform roles for coloratura soprano - there are only a few such singers not only in Russia, but also in the world. She easily performs complex roles intended for the highest female voices, replacing one stage image with a diametrically opposite one, which causes constant delight among the audience. In 2007, Mikhail Kuznetsov was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Boris Goryachev

Born in Moscow, my mother had a musical education, my grandfather sang romances wonderfully - his grandson inherited a deeply velvety baritone. At the age of 8 he entered a music school to study accordion, but, as it turned out, he liked singing more. A year later, he came to audition for the A.V. Choir School. Sveshnikov, and he was immediately enrolled in the 4th grade. Thanks to a great desire to learn, professional teachers and his own efforts, after a couple of years he was no longer inferior to his classmates. Performances began at large music venues. Thanks to his success in the musical field and dynamic lifestyle, Boris realized that he could not imagine any other future for himself.
After college he entered the Moscow Conservatory. As a first-year student, he already worked in the Akathist male chamber choir under the direction of Malyutin, which toured extensively around the world. It became increasingly difficult to combine work and study, and Boris was forced to transfer to the correspondence department of choral conducting at the Gnessin Institute.

In 1995, he went to work for the Peresvet choir and at the same time started his own project - a quartet performing sacred and Russian folk music.
He joined the Turetsky Choir in 2003. At the audition, Turetsky saw a young man - sweet, slightly awkward, very simple, without unnecessary polish, but with an amazing voice. Desire, work and support from his colleagues helped Boris gain confidence, and a year later the public saw a completely different Boris Goryachev, whom we know today.

Evgeniy Kulmis

Born in the Southern Urals, in the city of Kopeisk. Parents noticed their son's musical talent early and sent him to a music school. Evgeny graduated from the Chelyabinsk Music College with honors, at the age of 20 he entered the Gnessin Institute, and a month later he was drafted into the army. After the army, he continued his studies at the institute and then in graduate school. He began his musical career as a pianist. In 1991, I saw an advertisement for the admission of singers to the men's choir of the Moscow Choral Synagogue. This was the music that was interesting to him. A unique bass profundo, a voice rare in its depth and at the same time softness (an octave below the bass) attracted the attention of Turetsky. Over the years of concert activity, Evgeniy has performed many different roles: from Mephistopheles to compositions by Viktor Tsoi. He is the author of translations of many texts from the group's repertoire.

Oleg Blyakhorchuk

Born in Minsk. Since childhood, he stood out for his impeccable hearing and ability to act relaxed and flexible in front of the public, and he sang with great pleasure. Already in the first grade, having performed on the stage of the House of Officers with the song “From a Smile,” I felt the extraordinary pleasure of singing, which remained in my memory for the rest of my life. He continued his education at the Glinka Music College in Minsk. In his third year at school, he was simultaneously the leader, vocalist and keyboard player of a vocal-instrumental group.

After college, he entered the Belarusian State Conservatory named after Lunacharsky and almost immediately went to serve in the army, where he sang in the ensemble “Rovesnik”.
After the army he returned to his studies, at the same time he sang in the Radio and Television Choir, and on weekends - at weddings. Thanks to this, he discovered the pop genre and became a soloist of the National Orchestra of Symphonic and Pop Music of Belarus under the direction of Finberg.

She has been singing in the Turetsky Choir since 1996. The Choir’s repertoire at that time was dominated by classics, and the pop direction began to develop largely thanks to Oleg. He performs foreign pop hits and compositions by domestic authors with equal brilliance. In 2009, he mastered the wind harmonica, the solo on which is now an obligatory part of the Choir’s program.

Konstantin Kabo

Born in Moscow. Since childhood, teachers paid special attention to the vocal boy. At the age of 10, he entered the Sveshnikov Choir School, and after graduating, at the age of 15, he went to GITIS.
Since 1996, he served in the twice Red Banner Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after Alexandrov, and after completing his service he remained to work in the ensemble. Once, at a concert in the Kremlin Palace, he heard about the casting for the musical “Nord-Ost”, with which the period of musicals began in his life, and became a real participant in the tragedy that occurred on Dubrovka. By luck, in the first minutes after the capture he managed to escape through a third-floor window.

Then there were “12 Chairs”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Matta Mia”.
When at the end of 2007 Konstantin learned that Turetsky was looking for a tenor, he had no doubts. I liked the smiling and positive singer right away. They gave me a month to master the group’s repertoire, which includes several hundred works. And a month later, Konstantin brilliantly performed not only choral, but also solo parts.

Igor Zverev

Born in Shatura. Father is an Honored Artist of Russia, conductor of the orchestra of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Russian Ministry of Defense. When Igork was three years old, the family moved to Hungary, where his father worked. His first one took place there
musical debut. His parents, seeing their son’s abilities, sent him to study in Moscow at the Sveshnikov Choir School.

Graduated from the Sveshnikov Choir School. After graduating from college, Igor served in the army in the ensemble where his father worked. There were his like-minded people there, who were as interested in music as he was. In those years, Igor sang as a second tenor, but then his voice began to change: it became deeper, lower, brighter, and he was transferred to bass.
After the army, he entered the Moscow Academy of Culture and Art in the choral conducting department, after graduation he sang for 5 years in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, then in the State Academic Symphony Chapel named after Polyansky, worked on arrangements, collaborated with Christian Rey, soloists X-Mission group.

He joined the Turetsky Choir in 2003. Turetsky immediately noticed that before him was an interesting and versatile artist who had a keen sense of music and could perform everything from classical to jazz. Rehearsals, concerts, and tours began. Igor’s talent and desire to match the professionalism of the team played a role: now there is energy and confidence in his voice.

Vyacheslav Fresh

Born in Moscow. I started singing since childhood and really wanted to study at a music school. Seeing his grandson's aspirations and talents, his grandfather, contrary to his parents' wishes to see him as an engineer, insisted on studying abroad, and Slava became a student at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts at the Johannes Guttenberg University in Mainz. In addition to the history of music, he studied vocal skills.

One day Vyacheslav heard a performance by the Turetsky Choir, and it made a very strong impression on him. While passing through Moscow, he learned about the casting for the Choir, but he had neither experience, nor the appropriate vocal skill, nor the ability to stay on stage - qualities that are characteristic of all soloists of the group, but still sent his notes by mail. A few months later he was invited to an audition in Moscow, and then accepted into the group.

I had to quickly study the entire repertoire of the Choir and not only show unique vocal abilities in solo fragments, but also join the polyphonic choral score. A year later, at the cost of many hours of daily rehearsals, he took his place in the choir.
The rarest timbre of Vyacheslav’s voice is a counter-tenor, a male voice corresponding to a female contralto, more suitable for performing music of the Baroque era. He is also capable of modern compositions, including Queen, The Beatles, Scorpions.
