Elka understood why Pugacheva laughed at her. The singer Elka built a family nest in Sergiev Posad

26.06.2019

An amazing, extravagant, successful singer Elka reacts very sharply to questions about her personal life. “It will always be like this, believe me,” she says firmly. No matter how hard the artist tries to hide her privacy, something is known about her.

Chance acquaintance and meeting ten years later

The real name of the singer Yolka is Elizaveta Ivantsiv, and she is married. Her husband is a very ordinary guy named Sergei Astakhov. They met in 1994, when Sergei and his family were vacationing at the Carolina Bugazu resort, and Elka was there on tour. The young people met, spent some time together - an ordinary holiday romance. Much later, after Yolka moved to Moscow, they met again and the relationship continued.

At that time (and it was 2004), Elka had just signed a contract with Vlad Valov and disappeared into the recording studio. The debut album “City of Deceit” took up almost all of his time, and Sergei faithfully waited for his beloved in the car. As the producer himself recalls, Elka hid her romance even from the musicians and the entire group. One day secret alliance stopped being secret, and Vlad said: “Bring him here, we’ll feel him.”

Sergei gave the impression of an easy-going man; it was clear that the tree was the leader in this relationship, and that suited her. Her future husband lived with his parents in Khotkovo near Moscow, and the artist began to live with him. The contract did not limit the singer’s personal life (getting married, having children), so the producer had no influence on this situation. Sometimes it seems to him (Vlad Valov) that it is in vain.

Love is evil

The fact is that Sergei does not have any profession, did not work anywhere for a long time, and, according to the same Valov, led the life of a typical gigolo. Elka began to talk more and more often about where and how to earn more money. Regardless of this, in collaboration with Valov, the number of her performances was reduced to two per month.

To reach a new level, it was necessary to “go into pop music”. Which is exactly what happened.

The tree was bought by the influential production tandem of Alena Mikhailova and Liana Meladze.

A fantastic song “Provence” has appeared, wider, even universal recognition appeared, money appeared.

Lisa and Sergei entered into an official marriage almost at the same time when Elka had a creative breakthrough, in 2010.

The celebration was modest, almost homely. Family life was of an unusual character - Elka worked a lot and was the only breadwinner in the family. Sergei’s father made his living by digging wells and did not have a stable income. Astakhov’s mother was sick a lot and did not work. Elka had to support the whole family.

Fellow villagers say that with the appearance of the singer, the Astakhovs’ life improved significantly - she installed gas and heating in their house, and helped complete the garage.

Interesting notes:

Was there a divorce?

She even started building a house in Sergiev Posad; her husband and father-in-law were mainly involved in the construction. Construction of a cottage with an area of 500 square meters overlooking the Trinity-Sergius Lavra began in the same year when the young people got married.

In 2016, construction was suspended. According to neighbors, the couple stopped appearing in Sergiev Posad due to emerging disagreements. “The star got tired of carrying everything on himself, so she kicked him out,” the neighbors gossiped.

Elka does not comment on this information. It is known that in 2016, the singer fired Astakhov from the position of her administrator. His work activity in this field was the longest, but even loving wife I couldn’t motivate this person to work productively. Astakhov could not cope with this profession.

IN in social networks posts of that period are characterized by the fact that The Christmas tree appears in splendid isolation in the photo., however wedding ring doesn't take off. In recent photos, my husband is also absent, but there are a lot of concerts, friends and dogs. IN last years the singer helps shelters and simply homeless animals a lot, helping them find owners and save them from the euthanasia procedure.

There is no official information about the singer’s divorce from Sergei Astakhov. There are no children in this marriage either. Public opinion about this union was divided into two unequal parts. Most consider this couple to be a classic union of mommy and gigolo; others, especially those who know Sergei personally, believe that he is a very sincere, polite, calm young man, and Elka is quite happy with him. Someone else's family is in the dark, and who knows what exactly conquered a simple rural guy with a bright, informal girl.

Singer Yolka is an extraordinary person. Everything about her is unusual - from her image to the way she performs songs. Bright, interesting, not like everyone else - this is precisely why she catches the viewer, it is precisely with her unformatted and originality that she stands out from the crowd. But how did she come to her success and how did her music career develop? What kind of person is this? What are your hobbies besides music? How old is the singer Yolka? We will deal with all these questions in our article today. However, it’s worth mentioning right away that the material in the opus is just a small fraction of what can be told about this mysterious and charming girl, so talented and efficient.

Singer Yolka: biography

Today the singer Yolka is a famous person. Her songs, familiar to a wide audience, are heard in numerous concert “hodgepodge” programs and occupy the top lines of various charts on domestic radio stations. Although there was a time when no one had heard of an extraordinary girl with good vocal abilities.

The real name of the singer Yolka is Elizaveta Ivantsiv. This is exactly what the heroine of our story is called in real life. She was born in the small Ukrainian city of Uzhgorod, it happened in the summer, July 2, 1982. And, probably, the girl’s creative path was destined from above, since she was born into a family with a musical history. My parents had a direct connection to music: my mother played several instruments, my grandparents sang in the Transcarpathian folk choir. Lisa also started her musical path from the choir, though from school. By the way, the nickname Yolka appeared in childhood, when a boy from a yard company called the future singer that as a joke. No one could have thought then that this name would soon glorify Elizabeth and bring her success, but for now...

Lisa studied at a secondary school and was, in general, an ordinary girl, although very brave. She was not afraid to experiment with her appearance and, in general, was distinguished by ease of communication and an excellent sense of humor. She always knew how to laugh at herself.

After school I entered School of Music and honestly tried to get an education. But... it didn’t work out. There was no contact with the teachers. They could not discern in the girl the individuality that lived within her. Relations with teachers can only be described as a complete lack of mutual understanding and the presence of constant conflicts. Lisa left the school six months later.

Work with Vladislav Valov

In the mid-1990s, Liza Ivantsiv began working in the Ukrainian music group“B&B” as a backing vocalist and for some time tried to develop in this direction. However, the idea failed. The team broke up, and the girl, whose dreams collapsed without having time to come true, decided to give up her intentions and... went to work as a waitress.

But, apparently, fate had other plans for her; she prepared a different path for Lisa. To confirm this, Vlad Valov, the leader of the Bad Balance group, soon appeared in the singer’s life. Lisa had known him before. They met at one of the music festivals, when the girl was still working as part of the B&B group.

The man invited Lisa to Moscow to “experiment” and try to make a joint project. As Yolka later admitted in a conversation with journalists, for a long time she thought that she was being played, and did not believe that such proposals could be something serious. However, she took a risk. I took a risk and didn’t make a mistake. In 2001, the girl signed a contract with her first producer, Vlad Valov. It was then that the singer Yolka was “born”; the biography of her work begins exactly from this moment. It must be said that the project bore fruit almost immediately, and the result of the joint work was not long in coming. Over the course of several years, Yolka recorded an impressive number of songs, which were later included in her debut collection “City of Deception.”

First successes

It should be noted that musical genre, in which Yolka worked, was designed for a narrow circle of listeners. The songs she performed combined the styles of hip-hop, heavy guitar R&B and rock. That is, her music was not popular, but more alternative. However, the fans liked the album, music critics were also not stingy in their assessments, and Yolka received her first success. She became a popular person. The songs received rotation on radio stations, and the singer herself became an RMA Award nominee on MTV. Further more. A year later, Yolka’s second album, “Shadows,” was released. In 2007, the song “Handsome Boy” was awarded the Golden Gramophone Award.

Over the next two years, the singer continued to work actively. She released her third music collection- “This magnificent world” and led active search musical material for the fourth.

2009 was a landmark year for Lisa. The contract with Vladislav Valov ended, and the joint work of the singer and producer was put to an end. At the same time, there was a slight decline in Yolka’s work. The girl could not shake the feeling that she had reached a dead end. The moment of rethinking has come, a turning point in my career.

New style in creativity

In 2011, the artist decided to change her course and focus on popular music. The girl plunged headlong into the process. What is most interesting is that working in a new genre did not affect the singer’s musical abilities. The voice is a musical instrument that Lisa masterfully masters, and the performance of songs that were different in style did not in any way worsen the impression of the artist, it’s just that the music that poured out of her like a magical stream began to sparkle with completely new colors. The songs “Provence”, “On a Big Balloon” and “Near You”, which became hits, confirm all of the above.

In one of her interviews with the Russian music site “Zvuki.ru”, which closes the top three most visited and cited portals on the Runet, Lisa admitted: she does not regret at all that a completely different singer Yolka appeared before the listener. The biography of the pop singer does not make her unattractive in the eyes of her fans. This is not at all shameful, but very cool.

The performer's new musical creations received awards from various musical events, and thanks to this, the singer herself got into the tabloids of glamor magazines and lists of successful figures in Ukrainian show business and simply popular and recognizable people.

In general, Lisa is an open person. Often journalists are afraid of meeting her, thinking that she is a sarcastic and caustic girl. However, during the conversation it turns out that this is not the case at all, and you can talk to Lisa on any topic. She has a great sense of humor and is not shy about answering a variety of questions, such as: “What kind of men does she like?” or “How old is the singer Yolka?”

It must be said that the changes in the artist’s life were not empty space. Not only a creative crisis, but also one important meeting served as an impetus for development in a new direction. One day, Lisa was invited to an interview on a program on Alla radio, where the singer, in fact, had the opportunity to talk with Pugacheva. The meeting of two creative women was not in vain for Yolka. Of course, nothing special happened there, just a conversation with a diva Russian stage forced the girl, as she herself would later tell, to rethink some things and look at everything in a new way. This conversation set a new vector for the singer’s movement towards her goal.

Creative biography

After Yolka stopped working with Vlad Valov, she found new producers - Liana Meladze and Alena Mikhailova from Velvet Music.

It must be said that, in addition to music lessons, the singer led a very intense and active life- she took part as a jury member in several seasons of the television project “X-Factor”, and starred in the video for the song “Compose Dreams” by her colleague Vladi, a member of the group “Casta”. And, by the way, Little Red Riding Hood in the Russian dubbing of the cartoon " True story Red Cap” also speaks in the voice of Yolka.

In April 2012, an important event took place in the musical life of Lisa Ivantsiv, as for any ambitious artist - the singer gave a concert at the Olimpiysky sports complex. A lot of work was done and the concert was a great success. In September of the same year she began her concert tour singer Yolka in Russian cities. The biography of her work expanded through collaboration with rappers Noize MC and Zhara, the groups Megapolis and Burito. In addition, the girl’s life included filming episodic roles in the film “Gentlemen, Good Luck!” and the TV series “Fight”, the sitcom “SASHATANYA”, the films “This is Love!”, “A Gift with Character”, “About Love”.

Singer Yolka: personal life

I must say that today the singer has a lot of work and even more plans for the future. Yolka constantly tours with a group of musicians, including a guitarist, bassist, keyboard player, drummer and DJ. Also involved in the singer’s performances dance group Loonyband, whose members choreograph dance routines and help set up the stage.

In the personal life of Lisa Ivantsiv, everything is also good. Since 2010, she has been married to Sergei Astakhov. He's not a public person, he's just good guy from the Moscow region, although the young people met in Moscow. The singer’s friends say that the artist’s family is a matriarchy, and all important decisions are made by Yolka. The singer, for whom children are only in the plans, is trying to work hard. By the way, Lisa is the main breadwinner in the family. Recently the guys acquired real estate in Moscow, as well as a plot of land outside the city where they plan to build a house. The couple has a very touching relationship, permeated with care for each other. And this is noticeable from the outside even with the naked eye.

In the same year she was recognized as “Singer of the Year” at the “ZD Awards”, the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.

1982-2001: Childhood and youth
Lisa Ivantsiv was born on July 2, 1982 in Uzhgorod. At first she studied at secondary school No. 8 in Uzhgorod, and finished her studies at school No. 19. She grew up in musical family(father is a collector of jazz music, mother is a musician who plays three instruments, grandparents sang in the Transcarpathian folk choir), Elizaveta sang in the school choir, then moved to the vocal circle at the Palace of Pioneers. While studying at school, she took part in the school KVN. It gained local popularity thanks to the KVN team of Uzhgorod schoolchildren “Ward No. 6”, which in 2001-2003 was transformed into the team of Uzhgorod and Vinnitsa. According to the performer, she did not come up with her pseudonym on purpose. From the age of eleven everyone began to call her Yolkoy, after “one of the friends blurted out: “Yolka,” someone heard it and away they went.” “...yes, I haven’t responded to my name since I was eleven. Even my mother calls me Yolochka. Only dad remembers everything and reacts very inadequately when friends forget my name. He immediately lists all the vegetation in the Red Book for them, especially when they call in the night,” said the artist.
Yolka entered the music school in the vocal class, but did not graduate. According to her admissions, she did not have a good relationship with the teachers: “I honestly tried to study at the music school in the vocal class. But this venture was not crowned with success. I had problems there with everyone in the world and everyone with me. So after six months I just left: “Let me quickly kick you out before you ask me.” In the mid-1990s Christmas tree became part of the Uzhgorod group “B&B”, where she performed as a backing vocalist.

2001-2005: Beginning of career and album “City of Deception”

...the story of Cinderella still takes place in my life. Moreover, the meeting with Vlad took place at the moment when I finally forbade myself from even dreaming about big stage. Then I was possessed by youthful maximalism, I was indignant at what I saw on the TV screen. I couldn’t understand why many artists, not knowing how to sing and not having a good repertoire, regularly appear on air? I thought: “Give me at least a flip phone in this city, and I’ll show you what a real artist is!”

Christmas tree about the beginning of cooperation with Vlad Valov.
In 2001, the group “B&B” performed at the international festival Rap Music’01, where Yolka was noticed by Vlad Valov, leader of the group Bad Balance, who later became the singer’s first producer. Afterwards the group broke up and the singer did not appear on stage for some time. At this time, she gave up her dream of becoming an artist and got a job as a waitress in a cafe. Three years later, Yolka received a call from Valov’s company. The singer said that for a long time she thought that she was being played, but then she talked with Vlad, who sent her tickets to Moscow and suggested: “come for a week, we’ll experiment.” Vlad Valov signs a contract with Yolkoy and one of the first songs recorded with him was “Words Spoken by You,” which was included in the collection “Girls Attack.”

In 2004, Yolka performed in a concert on Mikhei’s memorial day with her group, which also included two guitarists and DJ Lenar. At the concert, Yolka performed Micah’s song “Bitch-Love.” “It was a deliberate move. I didn’t just sing this song. It was dedicated to the evening in memory of Micah, I performed the composition especially for his parents. Of course, there were a lot of rumors, but still there were more positive reviews. I always emphasize that this is not a commercial move, but a tribute to a person,” the artist later said. Continuing her collaboration with Valov, the singer recorded a song composed by him, “City of Deception.” “Vlad, looking at me, wrote the song “City of Deception,” a song that is my reflection,” the singer recalled. The composition was released on radio in the summer of 2004 and became the first hit Christmas trees, hitting the hit parade of the Maximum radio station and staying on it for twelve weeks.

On November 9, 2005, the performer’s debut album, entitled “City of Deception,” was released. Work on the disc, released on the 100PRO label, was completed in mid-2005 and, as the performer said, the disc was written “in one breath.” Yolka presented music in different styles, which was classified as rock (due to the guitar parts) and hip-hop (due to the “broken” rhythms and scratches). The singer herself described her style as “heavy guitar R&B.” NewsMusic.ru wrote that “this is the first time such a mix has been done in Russia.” The album was met with different opinions. Rita Skeeter at InterMedia responded positively to the work, saying: “Yolka and Valov have found a way to make this genre truly competitive even in our market with its national characteristics" Andrey Nikitkin wrote in Rap.ru that Yolka is still a pop project, but “of very high quality. It incorporates elements of both r’n’b and rock, reggae, chanson and pop. And it’s aimed not so much at fans of any of these styles, but at a wide audience.” Boris Barabanov in the Kommersant newspaper also spoke about the singer as the main hope of Russian pop music.

In 2005, Yolka became a nominee for the MTV RMA award in the “Best Rap” category. Several more singles were also released from the album, including the successful songs “Girl in a Peugeot” and “Good Mood”, the latter of which reached position 56 in the Russian radio chart.

2006-2009: albums “Shadows” and “This Magnificent World”
In 2006, the singer released the song “Student Girl” as a single, which reached 17th place in the Russian radio chart. Released on October 19 Yolka’s 2nd studio album “Shadows”. Elena Kuzmina wrote in Jamsession.ru that the album continued the traditions of the first album and described mainly city life. Guru Ken from NewsMusic.ru felt that in the new album Yolka presented too pop material and noted that it no longer caused such a stir as the first. "Projected onto the romantic teenage audience, second album Christmas trees“Shadows” is unlikely to become the event of the year. But this album can confirm that r’n’b projects are still alive in Russia, and even attract packed tiny (but pretentious) clubs,” the author noted. In March, Yolka voiced Red Cap in the Russian dubbing of the cartoon “The True Story of Red Cap.”

In 2007, the performer received the Golden Gramophone award for the song “Handsome Boy.” In April 2008, Yolka’s third album, “This Magnificent World,” was released. New job the singer called it more calm and philosophical. “The first album had pronounced tendencies of internal protest, struggle, and pressing problems. And now I tried to record a more peaceful album, because I came to the understanding that many problems can be smoothed out with love,” said the artist. In 2008, she was also nominated for a Muz-TV award in the “Best Hip-Hop Project” category. In the same year, she recorded a joint composition “Happiness” with rapper Al Solo. The song was included in the singer’s experimental album “Yolka. Duets", which included fifteen compositions recorded with artists of the Russian hip-hop/R&B scene. In September, the performer’s first Ukrainian-language song entitled “Freedom” was presented. The Kurs radio station assumed that the composition was recorded in connection with political changes in Ukraine. “This light and bright composition will tell about freedom. Although it was written under the impression of not the most pleasant incidents in the singer’s homeland,” they wrote on the Course website.

In 2009, the singer released two new songs: “Dreams” and “Your Words”, for the latter of which a video clip was shot. The composition was recorded for the fourth studio album Christmas trees. Work on the fourth album was initially carried out with Valov, but after the end of the contract with Yolka, the collaboration was terminated and the recorded song “Your Words” was not included in any of the singer’s albums. The song “Dreams” was subsequently included in the fourth album, but under the title “I would like in your dreams...” and in a different arrangement.
2010-2011: changes in creativity and the album “The Points Are Placed”

After the release of her third studio album, changes began to occur in Yolka’s work. Alexey Mazhaev noted in InterMedia that the singer had reached a dead end, but it was too early to “give up” on her. The journalist advised her to expand the circle of authors and practice intonation (“masterpieces of world pop and rock are suitable for this different years"). Denis Stupnikov wrote in KM.ru that the artist heeded this advice and in 2009, at a rock tribute to Alla Pugacheva, she performed the ballad “You exist in the world,” and a year later her contract with producer Vlad Valov ended. After that, Yolka began working with Liana Meladze and Alena Mikhailova from Velvet Music, and in 2010 she became a judge on the Ukrainian show “X-Factor”. According to the artist, she was prompted to make changes in her life by an interview she gave to Alla Pugacheva a year before the appearance of the song “Provence”:
A year before “Provence,” Pugacheva herself invited me to her Alla radio program. And talking to her, along with several others important conversations, stimulated me greatly. Alla Borisovna and I had a very emotional conversation! I left with such an impression! I told her that I have my own little niche and I don’t need more. She asks - if I want to come to your concert, where will you invite me? Or would I like to come and visit where you invite me? And it hurt me.- Yolka

A “radical turning point” is taking place in the singer’s work. If before the songs Christmas trees were performed in R&B and alternative rock, then now they have become more positive and in pop style. On September 20, the singer released a new single, “Provence,” written by the young Ukrainian author Egor Solodovnikov. The song became a big hit in early 2011. The singer described the new album as reflecting her inner state. “Any artist, even with minimal creative ambitions, wants to be listened to and heard. By the age of 29, I realized that being a pop singer is not only shameful, but very cool,” Yolka said in an interview with “Sounds. RU". The success of “Provence” helped the singer receive three nominations for the 2011 Muz-TV Award, in the categories “ Best Singer", "Best Song" and " Best video" In June, the performer was included in the list of the most successful figures in Ukrainian show business for the 2010-2011 season, compiled by the Ukrainian publication Focus. The singer was placed in tenth place in the ranking. 2011 also saw the release of such successful singles as the number one hits on the Russian radio chart “On the Big Balloon” and “About You”. In September, the duet of Yolka and Pavel Volya was presented - the song “Boy”. On October 1, at the RU.TV awards ceremony, the performer received an award in the “Best Song” category for the composition “Provence.”

The singer’s fourth studio album, “The Points Are Placed,” was released on November 18, 2011 on Yandex. Music." Music critics praised the work, calling it one of the best pop albums of the year. In the same month Christmas tree became “Singer of the Year” according to Glamor magazine, and on November 26 received her second Golden Gramophone award for the song “Provence”. In December, the Moscow magazine Time Out noted the singer’s work and included her composition “Provence” in its editorial list of “100 songs that changed our lives”, and the album “The Dots Are Placed” in the list of “25 Main Albums of 2011”. Afisha magazine also included “The Dots Are Placed” in its editorial list of the main albums of 2011, in the “soul of the year” category. Musical edition Interview magazine's website included the disc in the list of the best albums of the year, in the “Russian female pop” category. The editors of the Lenta.ru music section included the composition “On a Big Balloon” in their list of the main songs of the year.

2012-2013: new album

At the beginning of 2012, reports appeared that Yolka was going to release a new album in the middle of the year, although the previous disc was released only in November 2011. According to the singer, at that time she already had several new songs that she was going to record in the studio. At the end of January, a video was released by “Vladi”, a member of the group “Casta”, for the song “Compose Dreams”, in which Yolka starred. On February 2, 2012, the disc “Points Are Placed” topped the Russian album chart “2M. Russia Top 25". On March 26, it became known that the singer was nominated in four categories - “ Best Female Performer", "Best Album" ("The Dots Are Placed"), "Best Song" ("About You") and "Best Duet" (with Pavel Volya) ("Boy") - at the Muz-TV Prize 2012. Based on the results of the award , Yolka received the award in the “Best Performer” category. Due to the increased popularity of the performer, she had to refuse to continue participating in the television project “X-Factor”. In the third season, singer Irina Dubtsova took Yolka’s place at the judges’ table. In the latest ranking of the most successful stars of Ukrainian show business by the Focus publication, Yolka took 18th place: her income in Ukraine for the 2011-2012 season amounted to about one and a half million dollars.

On April 20, the singer’s concert took place in the new “North” hall of the Olimpiysky sports complex. During the concert, Yolka presented two new compositions - “Higher” and “I Want”. The last of the compositions was released as a single, included in the soundtrack to the film “Love with an Accent” and received positive reviews in the press].

On September 21, Yolka opened a new autumn tour of Russia with a concert at the Moscow club “16 tons”. The singer's performances in the USA were also planned. In addition, within creative evening Konstantin Meladze on “New Wave” Yolka performed Valery Meladze’s song “In the Middle of Summer”. At the RU.TV 2012 awards, Yolka received an award in the “Best Song” category for the composition “About You.”

On October 8, the Afisha magazine presented a joint song by Yolka and the Megapolis group: a cover version of Alexander Sinitsyn’s song “Stars, Stars.” The composition, as well as four other songs, were recorded together with Megapolis for the series “Fight”, in which the singer played a cameo role. On December 4, there was a digital release of the new mini-album “Quiet Concert,” recorded at the singer’s Moscow concerts in the Mir concert hall. The album was released on the iTunes Store on opening day Russian branch online store. At the beginning of 2013, the film “Gentlemen, Good Luck!” was released, in which Yolka appeared in a cameo, in a cameo role, and performed one of her songs.

In the summer of 2013, Yolka presented a new song, “Body ofigelo,” for which a video was soon shot. Soon the singer released the song “Higher” as a single, but under a new name - “Fly, Lisa” - and a video for it. Together with rapper Noize MC, she performed the song “We Don’t Understand,” which was released on his album “Confusion” in October 2013.

In August 2013, rapper Zhara and Yolka recorded the song “ New world"and soon they shot a video for it. As always, closer to the new year, Yolka is invited to awards, New Year photo shoots, etc.
Artistry and musical style

At the beginning of her career, music journalists singled out Yolka primarily for her extraordinary vocal abilities. Andrei Nikitin wrote in Rap.ru that “the singer... has a voice of serious nerve. It’s like a perfect instrument that no matter what you play, it’s great.” Rita Skeeter in InterMedia considered that “Yolka’s voice turned out to be suitable for realizing the wildest musical dreams.” Boris Barabanov wrote about the “original vocal style” of the singer’s performance, and Denis Stupnikov noted the memorable intonations and powerful expression of her performance. Vlad Valov said: “I looked at Yolka, and while she was humming something in the studio, I realized that she could sing anything.”

Yolka was not the author of the songs on her debut album and this, according to Skeeter, could have disappointed the singer’s first fans. The performer herself said in response to this: “Many people reproach me for being just a performer and not writing myself. I'm not a performer. I am a medium. These are different things. I just know how to convey the right words to people.” Yolka was classified as a genre of Russian rhythm and blues. Barabanov wrote that “the first song “City of Deceit” once made people start talking about Yolka as the heir to the glory of the late Micah.” Nikitin spoke out against this definition. In his opinion, the authors of the capital’s publications awarded Yolka the title of “the first Russian r&b performer” and attached to her “the stilted expression “Micah in a skirt,” which made “one wonder about the competence of these people” and “doubt their morality.” The singer herself was skeptical of the critics’ statements and, although she called her style “heavy guitar R&B,” she explained that she said this as a joke when journalists asked questions about the style of her music.

When journalists start to “torture” me, I sometimes answer that my style is called Russian hard r’n’b. Naturally, this is just a joke, because in fact I have never thought about the style in which we work. It seems very funny to me when some bands intensively invent their own musical direction, and then cannot clearly explain what kind of style it is. In general, Russian r’n’b is not about me. - Yolka in an interview with Toppop.ru

Critics noted the influence of rhythm and blues, rock, reggae, chanson and pop in her songs. Boris Barabanov noted that the most successful songs on Yolka’s debut album were those in which “her ideas about modern vocals intersected with the traditions of the Soviet stage, namely in the numbers “June 31”, “Girl in a Peugeot” and “Good Mood”. These songs are not so much Yolka’s luck, but rather stories about how Irina Otieva and Larisa Dolina could sound if they dared to seriously appeal to a youth audience.” However, most journalists called the singer “the hope of pop music.”

For a long time, Yolka remained a niche artist, with her own small audience. In her subsequent albums she continued the theme of urban life in big city. Elena Kuzmina from Jamsession.ru wrote: “Yolka is an urban singer, all [her] songs are about the city and its inhabitants.” By the third album, the exploitation of the same themes and the invariability of the musical style led to the fact that the public and critics began to lose interest in the performer. Yolka said that she herself was unhappy with the current situation and was ready to realize her ambitions. In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, she said that she spent nine years in Moscow and did not sit idle during all this time: “I sang songs. For a long time. I was just a fairly niche singer. This is indeed true. And for some time this suited me. Therefore, there is no point in being offended by this. I had my small but very loyal audience.” This predetermined further changes in the singer’s life.

I have a very simple attitude towards everything. It's all so ephemeral, temporary. I am now enjoying what is happening to me. This time, the fame pressing on me... I live very simply. My life consists of my little joys. The only thing that can load me up a little is this side effects, which are inevitable on such a scale. This is the yellow press, which I hate. Not even because they hurt me so much. They just treat everyone badly. They forget about basic things. About respect, about not invading personal space. This is the only thing. The rest is rosy and excellent for me. My audience, my travels, my grumbling. These are all my little joys. I was waiting for them. I waited a long time. And after six months you get tired of it? No. It doesn't press. This is cool.
Yolka talks about her acquired popularity in an interview with KP.

The fourth album was a more mature work, which also retained the influence of rhythm and blues and rock, but added a greater share of soul, reggae and pop music. Oleg Luzin from Weburg.net wrote: “By the fourth studio album, “the girl in the Peugeot” refused the services of producer Vlad Valov, frontman of the notorious Bad Balance, and became completely independent. This entailed a radical change in the singer’s work: from R’n’B and alternative rock, Yolka switched to the pop style, which justified itself one hundred percent.” Komsomolskaya Pravda noted that over the past two years, critics and the public “raised [Yolka] to the skies” and increasingly began to call her “almost the first worthy performer to appear after Zemfira, as well as the main hope of the Russian stage”: “ ...under this New Year she was literally torn to pieces. And all thanks to an intricate song about Provence, which literally pushed the singer onto the big stage from her “club” niche, where for five years she sang mocking songs like “Handsome Boy” and “Girl in a Little Peugeot,” wrote Elena Lapteva, noting , that the album “The Points Are Placed” strengthened her in the status of “supernova”. Andrei Vasyanin in Rossiyskaya Gazeta noted that many considered the singer’s latest album to be more mainstream compared to the previous ones, but more hit and of higher quality in sound. Describing Yolka’s behavior on stage, he found a contradiction between the musical material (“sonorous, full-fledged, requiring real skill from all participants in the concert, close to soul and pop rock”) and her “lightweight, completely pop” behavior on stage. “For the singer herself, there are no contradictions here - Yolka speaks about herself in the sense that she is neither rock nor alternative, but a pop performer, although “extraordinary and with surprises,” the journalist concluded.

In a review of the singer’s concert at Moscow’s Olimpiysky Sports Complex, Guru Ken wrote that “now it is she [Yolka] who sets the trends in all domestic pop music. What are the trends? Maximum live sound at a concert (but not entirely!), excellent vocals, the ability to live a song, a mix of Euro-pop and rhythm and blues in all possible configurations.” The journalist, noting the sold-out concert, believed that the mass audience would allow Yolka to perform more experimental music (“intelligent rhythm and blues with reggae”) only as long as she had hits such as “Provence” and “Okolo” you". Mikhail Margolis wrote in Izvestia that “Provence” brought the performer wide fame: “The stylish sketch about the trouble-free flight of a romantic beauty from Boryspil to France brought Yolka to the top of popularity in 2011, from where she still doesn’t want to go down,” and compared the degree of her popularity in Russia with the success of Adele around the world.

After the release of her debut album, the singer received several positive reviews from music critics. Denis Stupnikov wrote in KM.ru that Yolka “sounded like few people in Russian music sound - an unusual voice and masterful use of it, memorable intonations, powerful expression.” Rita Skeeter in InterMedia noted that Yolka is one of the few performers who actually sings, and the album has a signature sound and an unusual presentation of the material. Boris Barabanov wrote in the Kommersant newspaper that “the first song “City of Deception” once made people start talking about Yolka as the heir to the fame of the late Micah from the Jumanji project,” but the debut album brought her into the category of “the main hope of the Russian popular music" Andrei Nikitin in Rap.ru gave the album a reserved assessment, writing: “When talking about music, arrangements and lyrics, one has to be more restrained in assessments - “not bad,” “strong,” “in some places not without grace,” but only in some places. In general, these components do not cause any special enthusiasm - although they do not raise any questions.” The second album “Shadows” received a positive review from Sergei Gortsev on Tektonika, who considered that “if the first album “City of Deception” (2005) made people start talking about Yolka as a talented and promising singer, then “Shadows” immediately introduces her to the first row domestic performers. The album is very good." Guru Ken, on the contrary, called the album a failure and too “pop”.

In a review of the singer’s third album, Alexey Mazhaev wrote that “the monotony of the vocal style and musical material is annoying,” but nevertheless, “it’s too early to give up on the singer Yolka after her third album. It is clear that the singer has powerful potential, all that remains is to find a channel for its implementation.” Mikhail Baev noted in Billboard magazine that “since “This Magnificent World” is the third album of the project, exploiting the same ideas, it, by definition, does not arouse such interest as previous works.”

Alexander Gorbachev in Afisha gave a positive assessment of the album. The author called the album a generally coherent work and noted that “from the album “The Dots Are Placed,” of course, no global historical conclusions follow - but, paradoxically, positive changes have actually begun to occur in Russian pop music.” The record received a negative review in the Ukrainian publication “Vgolos”. Alexander Kovalchuk wrote that Yolka “completely dissolved in the metaphysical light of the preferences of its producers, but this does not mean that this is a meeting with God.” The album was also positively assessed by Nikolay Smirnov in the publication “Va-Bank”, Nikolay Fandeev from Shoowbiz.ru, Ilya Legostaev in “Moskovsky Komsomolets”, Anton Skultan in Maptype.com, Alexander V. Volkov, columnist for the newspaper “Izvestia”, and Joy Tartaglia on the website Music.com.ua.
Public image

When Yolka first appeared on stage, she herself described her image as “boyish.” Ekaterina Taranova from KM.RU described him as a teenager and noted that the singer appeared in public “with a short provocative haircut, in jeans, sneakers and with plush toys in her hands.” Katya Perets from Plitkar.com.ua wrote that the artist initially occupied “the niche of a kind of Russian-language Pink” on stage. It was noted that the unusualness of her image played a role in her popularity: “... the girl really looked very extravagant - bald head, heavy makeup, a lot of piercings, outfits that could hardly be called feminine... All this was part of her image and still served its purpose role - she was noticed, loved, Yolka’s songs began to take first place in the charts.” Yolka was inclined to experiment with her appearance while still living in Uzhgorod. She dyed her hair bright red and said that for her hometown it was a very brave act: “You can’t imagine what it means to walk around Uzhgorod with bright red hair,” and said that she approaches the choice of clothes more simply : “As for clothes, I’m not able to think through anything in principle. I wore whatever came to hand. Most often, everything happens intuitively - I want it and that’s it!” My parents were calm about Yolka’s experiments with her appearance: “Mom and dad weren’t against my first tattoo and reacted absolutely normally to the fact that at 15 I shaved my head.” In an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, she explained that she uses the services of stylists only on the set of video clips, so that she has the opportunity to professionally implement her ideas, and in ordinary life there is no “person to whom I would say: “Come on, come up with an idea for me here.” image!“ - there is no such thing. I do my hair at home myself.”

The performer said that on stage she is “a concentrate of who she is in real life: “That is, if in life I could stretch out some emotion for two weeks, then on stage it breaks out of me in three seconds.” Yolka does not talk about her personal life in interviews and she explained her position on this issue as follows: “Why am I so superstitious and so protective of everything that concerns my personal life? Because everyone is starting to become very morbidly interested in details, sniffing around. This terribly interferes and destroys.” The performer also said that artists should be socially responsible and therefore gave up smoking:

Artists must be responsible - aware of what they bring to the masses. They must be aware of the example they are setting. By the way, I didn’t get into this right away. Then I watched one interview where I was sitting “beautifully”, all “show-off”, with a cigarette - I was still smoking then. This is so terrible, this is disgusting! I'm very ashamed of myself. I then made a vow to myself that I would never smoke on camera again in my life. Then, a few years later, I decided that I would not smoke at all, and I feel great. I don’t advertise this, I don’t hit myself in the chest with my heel, but I believe that this will also become an example for someone, or at least prompt some thought.

In 2010, with changes in musical style, the image of Yolka began to change. She explained this by natural reasons: growing up, rethinking values. “I’m changing everything! Many people attribute to me the involuntary change of my image. I often hear these conversations: “Before you were a “tomboy”, and now...” No one forced me to do anything. This is just a moment of growing up. I can do this , but the sneakers haven’t gone away,” said the singer. The changes first appeared when the performer acted as a judge on the Ukrainian show “X-Factor”: “Yolka has become a stylish glamorous lady with the right makeup and hairstyle, which favorably emphasizes the singer’s beautiful facial features. Now her outfits are an example of style, the images are thought out to the smallest detail, she has become softer and lighter - this is noted by all the singer’s fans.”

I feel comfortable in both ways. It’s just that 8-10 years ago I was different. I liked the different style both in music and in clothes. But sooner or later there is a period of growing up when you want to change and improve. And it’s great when you like the result, when you’re happy with the reflection you see in the mirror. But, despite the fact that now I look more like a romantic girl in love, you can be sure that if something happens, I can give you a hand.

Yolka talks about her new image.

In the video clip for the song “Provence,” Yolka appeared in a completely new image: “in an elegant white dress, high-heeled shoes, with a beautiful hairstyle.” She began to be called one of the most stylish singers in Russian show business. In an interview with OK! she said that, nevertheless, she does not try to keep up with fashion: “Fashion is such a capricious thing! Ten years ago it was quite simple, but now it’s hard to keep track of all the trends and directions, and this despite the fact that fashion is cyclical. For me it's more important to be stylish. It’s better to piece together your style than to chase fashion and end up looking ridiculous. I am against fanatical following of fashion trends.” Among her favorite fashion designers, she named the Ukrainian designer Lilia Litovskaya, who creates concert outfits for her.

Notes

Elka met her future husband back in the early 90s, when the Astakhovs came to relax at the Karolino-Bugaz resort near Odessa, and she performed there with a vocal group. In the meantime, Elka and her husband Sergei Astakhov live on rented apartment in Moscow. And then the Christmas tree began to change. At some point, she hung out with a boy from the Moscow region, Sergei Astakhov.

Now Elka comes to Khotkovo in the summer. He washes himself in the bathhouse and visits the Olympus fitness club. Crowds of fans are thrilled by her hits “Provence”, “I Want”, “Near You”, but YOLKA herself is going crazy for her husband Sergei ASTAKHOV. The singer YOLKA sings about “Provence”, but lives in Khotkovo. We immediately called an ambulance, but the doctors could not do anything. Sergei Varga, a friend of the Ivantsiv family and the administrator of Olimp, immediately contacted Lisa. Elka barely survived the tragic news.

True, after some time the singer turned pale and almost lost consciousness. The husband of the star Sergei ASTAKHOV has not a life, but a holiday. The singer met her husband Sergei Astakhov more than ten years ago at a resort, but the romance between them broke out only six years later, when they met by chance in Moscow. We “twisted” her for a long time, asked her to introduce us to her gentleman, but she was either shy or simply didn’t want to.

All these years, the star lived in the house of Sergei’s parents in the city of Khotkovo. Nowadays, due to frequent tours, the singer is met there less often. “At first we thought that Seryoga brought our local girl into the house,” the Astakhovs’ neighbor Viktor shared his thoughts. I didn’t even know such a singer - Elka! And then his father, over a bottle, said that their daughter-in-law was not easy - she was promising!

Construction is proceeding gradually, but it is already clear that the house overlooking the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius will cost the singer at least 1.5 million dollars - the land there is very expensive! I heard that in her project, Elka asked to protect them from prying eyes with a tall, blank fence.

And in relation to parents, and in relation to the husband and his parents. The real name of the singer Yolka is Elizaveta Valdemarovna Ivantsiv. And she was nicknamed Elka in childhood: supposedly for her prickly character, and also for her passion for colorful and shiny clothes. Lisa was born and raised in the provincial Ukrainian city of Uzhgorod.

Lisa was the only girl on the team: many wanted to date her, but she herself gave preference to the team captain Vasily Krainaya. At that time, Elka earned her living by working as a dishwasher. Astakhov is a sociable, simple guy, mutual friends talk about Elka’s husband.

Let us remind you that in the third season of the X Factor show, fans will not see Elka. Thanks to her participation in the project, the singer gained incredible popularity, which resulted in enormous employment. The personal life of the singer Yolka is a secret behind seven seals. But she has been happily legally married for more than five years. Elka met her husband at one of the Ukrainian resorts.

Lisa (the real name of the singer Yolka) was skeptical about fleeting acquaintances in the south. True, Sergei’s friends did not immediately accept the singer. His mother said in an interview that when Lisa decided to sing, no one listened to her. In 2010, they officially registered their relationship and began building their own house. In Sergiev Posad, near Moscow, they built a huge mansion in a couple of years. Many people ask for children. Elka also dreams of a child. She hopes that soon her dream of becoming a mother will come true.

We often see them together with Seryozha. On vacation, the singer does not deny herself anything. But, as you understand, everything secret sooner or later gets to Musya and me and our keyboard comrades. And now photos of the vacation of the couple Lisa and Sergei have appeared on the Internet. I just wonder why such gossip appears, because the singer Elka is a very successful person in show business and should earn a very decent income.

He did not work anywhere and lived at her expense. In short, he turned out to be a gigolo. Apparently, in exchange for supporting this boy, she stopped renting an apartment in Moscow and went to live with him in the Moscow region. The star soon forgot about her resort admirer, plunging headlong into work.

“Elka” is the creative pseudonym of the Ukrainian singer and artist Elizaveta Valdemarovna Ivantsiv, who entered the Russian show business as “Discovery of the Year” and r’n’b singer immediately after the release of her first studio album and flagship song “City of Deception”.

The performer's childhood and youth

Little Lisa was very creative child, which with early years was drawn to the world of music. But it is not surprising, since the father of the future singer was a music lover and collector of jazz records, and her mother played three musical instruments.

At the age of 8, she began participating in the school choir, then began singing solo in vocal circle Palace of Pioneers.

After graduating 19 Secondary school city of Uzhgorod, Yolka decided to enter the music school in the choir department. Despite her bright personality and excellent vocal abilities, she did not find the approval of vocal teachers and left educational institution already after the first session. In the future, in all interviews, she will explain this act by “strong pressure from the outside and the youthful maximalism inherent in all teenagers.”

The beginning of a creative journey: recordings and concerts

Having moved to Moscow, the girl tried to establish herself as a “talented artist and performer,” but her talent remained unnoticed by producers and composers. For a long time, Lisa was forced to earn her living by performing in a restaurant and washing dishes in the kitchen, until one significant day when she was noticed by the owner of a major music label, Vlad Valov. Elka couldn't believe her luck.

Signing a contract with major music agency gave impetus to the development of her talent. She released an album called “City of Deception” in 2005, several individual singles and began touring the country.

The opinion of the public and other representatives of the media industry regarding its creativity, differed, but despite all this, Elka's tracks long time occupied the first lines of the charts and since the beginning of 2005 she has received many prestigious prizes and awards. In particular:

  • MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Rap Artist;
  • “Golden Gramophone” for the song “Handsome Boy”;
  • Countless MUZ-TV awards for best songs, videos and in the “Artist of the Year” nomination.

Her further creative path was marked by the termination of her contract with Vlad Valov in 2009 and collaboration with Konstantin and Valery Meladze. Recordings of new songs and videos, active promotion of our own solo career and, of course, the wedding.

Personal life

For a long time, the singer was married to her school love, Sergei Astakhov. But their “boat of love” crashed on the sharp rocks of harsh reality. Elka’s husband earned significantly less than her, did not strive to support the artist in her creative activity (although he was her concert director) and showed all the behavioral traits of a simple gigolo. Close friends and acquaintances of this couple also confirmed this fact, sympathizing with the girl, and speaking contemptuously about her life partner.

Despite the strong affection and vivid feelings that existed between the spouses at the very beginning, they did not have children together. Even after the breakup, Elka repeatedly asserted that “it’s too early for her to become a mother. For this, first she must find a person who would be close to her in spirit».

Concert group

Yolka tours with a permanent lineup of musicians, who are bound only by a written agreement, and not by a contract, as in most cases. These people are her trusted partners and participate in the process of creating new songs.

  1. L. Trofimov - keyboards;
  2. A. Kulkov - drums;
