The Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Hospital, in its structure, purpose and nature of the tasks performed, occupies a special place among healthcare institutions in the region, being a multidisciplinary center of highly qualified specialized medical care for the population of the region and an organizational and methodological center for treatment and preventive institutions of the administrative territories of the Chelyabinsk region.

The first and only building at that time with 300 beds was put into operation on October 17, 1938, which is associated with the opening of the Chelyabinsk Regional Hospital. The following departments were deployed in this building: surgical, therapeutic, ophthalmological, nervous diseases and hematological, and it also housed a clinic, administration, etc. support services. Each of the medical departments had a general profile and was staffed by qualified doctors and other specialists.
From the very beginning of the organization of the hospital, the high professionalism of doctors and other staff, a focus on continuous training, mastering everything new and advanced in the treatment of patients, enthusiasm, maximum dedication and confidence in the future were clearly evident.
Prominent healthcare organizers made a great contribution to the formation and further development of the hospital Southern Urals, scientists and practitioners, but a special role in the creation and development of the hospital was played by the heads of the institution - the chief doctors of the hospital, both at the initial and subsequent stages of its formation. These are honored doctors of the RSFSR, the first of whom was Glukhovsky S.Z., then successively - Ryskin A.N., Ryskina M.I., Ladyzhensky M.I., Tarasov P.M., later Klyukov N.S., who headed hospital for 11 years. From 1969 to 1993, the chief physician of the hospital was the Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, Candidate of Medical Sciences Grigory Isakovich Grossman, then for a short time - O.V. Makhankov. who was replaced by Alexander Leonidovich Zhuravlev from September 1995, and from November 2010 Marat Vladimirovich Bavykin was appointed chief physician. Soon after the opening of the hospital, the construction of children's and then therapeutic buildings began, and other medical buildings and buildings of auxiliary services were designed.

However, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War disrupted the development plans of the hospital and destroyed the prospects for organizing its work. Nevertheless, although with great stress, overcoming difficulties and hardships, the hospital successfully continued to operate in wartime conditions. In October 1941, the Kiev Medical Institute was evacuated to Chelyabinsk, due to which the Chelyabinsk healthcare system faced difficulties in employing and settling specialists, rationally placing scientific educational and medical equipment. The regional hospital became the main educational, scientific and clinical base of this institute. From that time and in subsequent years, famous scientists and professors worked at the departments located at the hospital: A.P. Krymov, N.Ya. Samoilov, A.B. Katsnelson, G.D. Obraztsov, A.I. Vorotilkin ., Shimansky K.B., Burgsdorf M.V., Kolmanovsky S.M., Korabelnikov I.D., Sinitsyn P.D. and others.
Medical assistance was provided by doctors selflessly devoted to their work: Nazarov I.N., Cherevatkin G.N., Shpaer L.I., Poselyanskaya Z.I., Shultz S.V., Lifshits F.M., Berezovsky M.I. , Vysotskaya L.I. and many others.

Many doctors, paramedics and junior health workers, having started working from this time onwards, for many years, until the end labor activity, gave it to our hospital. Devotion to the hospital has been and remains a good tradition of our employees. Many of them work experience is thirty, forty, fifty or more years of work, and in work book there is only one record of employment at a regional hospital.

In September 1944, the Chelyabinsk Medical Institute was formed, the main clinical base of which was now the Chelyabinsk Clinical regional hospital. This provided opportunities and incentives for further development hospitals, advanced training of doctors, development and implementation of new diagnostic and treatment techniques, introduction of practical other scientific activity and the overall level and quality of the hospital.
With the end of the Great Patriotic War, the opportunity arose and was realized for the further development of the hospital, a positive change in the volume and nature of its activities. The children's and therapeutic buildings were put into operation in 1959, the clinic building in 1982, the pathological building in 1970, the administrative building in 1971, construction of housing, economic and support services was underway.

The initial forms of organizational and methodological work with health care facilities in the region acquired a purposeful, consistent, planned character and began to spread to all levels of the region’s medical network, from first-aid posts to city and district hospitals. The work was carried out by hospital staff with the participation of department employees medical institute, was coordinated with other regional specialized institutions under the leadership and in close cooperation with the regional health department and its leadership by chief specialists.

The main directions of this work were organizing work to improve the qualifications of medical personnel, studying the health status of the population, studying, summarizing and disseminating best practices in health care facilities at all levels, coordinating the organizational and methodological work of specialized regional institutions, planning and organizing field work of specialized teams and clinics, doctors -curators for the purpose of providing therapeutic, advisory and methodological assistance.
By the mid-sixties - early seventies, the potential capabilities of the hospital, its qualifications, aspirations, the demands of the time, the general rise medical science and the practices in the country, on the one hand, and the real capabilities of the hospital, on the other, came into clear contradiction due to the inadequacy of its material base, technical equipment and lack of development social sphere for its employees.

In this regard, on the initiative of the hospital management and the Regional Health Department, after contacting the heads of the highest authorities in the region and their detailed on-site acquaintance with the state of affairs, the hospital was instructed to quickly make specific proposals for the design of buildings and structures as medical purposes, as well as buildings for social and economic and technical support.

As a result of discussing the proposals of the hospital management, a special decision of the Regional Executive Committee was adopted “On the expansion and strengthening of the material and technical base of the regional clinical hospital.” To implement it, the forces and means of 15 administrative territories of the region and the city of Chelyabinsk were involved, in total twenty-two construction trusts and managements. Regular monitoring of the implementation of this decision both by the Regional Executive Committee and the hospital itself made it possible to introduce building by building, building by building, consistently equipping them with everything necessary and putting them into operation, almost without increasing the number of beds, to create optimal conditions, material resources and technical equipment hospitals and solve a number of social issues. During the period from the adoption of this decision, from 1971 to 1990 inclusive, the following were built, equipped and successively put into operation: surgical, medical, therapeutic buildings, the building of the regional diagnostic center, interconnected by warm passages, a pharmacy, a catering unit for 1000 patients with a catering unit and a canteen for employees, a dormitory for nurses with 216 beds, 3 residential buildings with 160 apartments each for employees: construction of a heating main from the thermal power plant to the heating unit of the hospital, replacement of 60-70% of the engineering communications of the Medgorodok.

In 2000, construction of another standard surgical building was completed.

The result of intensive construction, which was never an end in itself, was the creation of optimal conditions for the work of departments, diagnostic units for patients, the consolidation of existing and the creation of new specialized departments, equipping them with modern apparatus and equipment, and also providing optimal conditions for the work of the departments of ChSMA working on the basis hospitals: personnel, technical and other support for auxiliary medical units, departments, offices, advisory clinics; computerization and introduction modern technologies in the work of administrative and business services of the hospital.
Over the 70 years that have passed since its formation, the hospital has grown into a unique, powerful, multidisciplinary institution, which is among the largest hospitals of its type in Russian Federation. An important milestone the history of the hospital and a unique feature of its structure, unlike other such institutions, is the presence of a regional diagnostic center as a structural unit, which facilitates a comprehensive examination of patients with diagnostic and clinical tools.
There are 1,040 beds in the hospital’s inpatient departments, of which 75% are surgical beds. The hospital has 25 specialized treatment and diagnostic departments, 16 of which are regional specialized centers. Over the past years, 1,097 thousand patients have been treated in medical departments, and 649 thousand patients have undergone surgery.
More than 116 tons of blood and its preparations, and 128 tons of blood-substituting fluids were transfused to patients undergoing treatment. In the treatment process, in addition to medical departments, the capabilities of such departments as barotherapy, acupuncture, and physiotherapy are widely used.

The advisory clinic of the regional clinical hospital provides consultations in 32 specialties, specialized consultations are carried out simultaneously by 40 doctors, including employees of the departments of the ChSMA and heads of hospital departments.
Over the years of operation of the clinic, 7,500,000 patient visits have been carried out, on average 170 thousand visits are provided per year, including 32% of residents of rural areas. Both the hospital and the clinic have ample opportunities for a comprehensive examination of patients in as soon as possible, thanks to the presence of powerful, well-equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, diagnostic departments and laboratories of the regional diagnostic center.
A number of offices in the clinic and departments in the hospital are the only ones for the corresponding profile in the region.

Since 1975 alone, more than 16 thousand visits have been made to the cities and districts of the region by doctors from the hospital and base departments of the Chechen State Medical Academy, with the aim of providing medical, advisory and methodological assistance, about 300 thousand consultations of patients on site have been carried out. The department of emergency and planned advisory care completed 51 thousand tasks, during which more than 63 thousand patients were consulted, and 24 thousand operations were performed.
The hospital employs about 2,100 employees, including 395 doctors, of which 7 are honored doctors of the Russian Federation, 10 are doctors of medical sciences, 56 candidates of medical sciences, 257 doctors have the highest qualification category, 72 have the first.
The regional hospital is the clinical base for 8 departments and 2 courses of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy, which contributes to the rapprochement of medical science and practical medicine and generally increases the level of the diagnostic and treatment process. The joint work of departments and diagnostic and treatment departments contributes to the effective implementation of new medical technologies, methods of diagnosis and treatment of patients. Over the past 23 years alone, hospital doctors have introduced 990 new medical techniques.

The operational experience of the departments is systematically analyzed and summarized. Over 73 years, hospital staff have defended 126 candidate and 24 doctoral dissertations using hospital material, and 2,115 scientific papers have been published.
The regional clinical hospital is not only first-class equipment, but, first of all, wonderful specialists who give all their knowledge, and most importantly their soul, to their patients.

Feedback on occlusion of a saccular aneurysm with a wide mouth of the internal carotid artery performed on July 19, 2013. Attending physician Sergey Leonidovich Pashnin
Part 1: admission and first impressions
Since the operation was planned, my wife was admitted to the Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Hospital on July 10, 2013.
Upon admission (started admission at 9:30 and finished at 15:30) we received
a lot of “impressions”:
Running from one office to another between different buildings. Everywhere
queues and “friendly” staff and visitors.
Why is there one emergency room in several buildings - registration in
building No. 4, then slap-plop to building 3 to the neurosurgery department.
When exiting the elevator on the 6th floor, I honestly had a bit of a culture shock.
happened, the first thought: “In general, patients leave here themselves, or
Is this a one way road? There is no repair as such since the "shaggy"
nineties,” everything looks so miserable, even though it’s clean.
The next impression I saw was on a plate of food, as it later turned out
it was “barley pilaf.” Brr, honestly - it looks like hell

but about the zone!
I went home with mixed feelings.
Part 2: hospital life
I am describing it from the words of my wife. The first is super slippery mattresses
beds. On which the sheets physically cannot be held in
straightened form. The second thing is nutrition: periodically
the food served completely kills a person’s appetite and desire to eat.
Sometimes it's quite edible.
Third, junior med. The staff is very responsive and not rude.
I would like to express special gratitude to the doctors themselves. Quite
open to communication with patients, not prone to reflection on
clarifying and “stupid” questions from patients. The wife was led by Sergey Pashnin
Leonidovich. Since the upcoming operation was classified as
very complex and with a certain probability of “bad
accidents" he discussed with his wife all possible future
“bad things,” after which she became very afraid. The reason for this is
preliminary conversation in May at the clinic of the Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Hospital with comrade. Dziuba,
when the need for endovascular surgery was determined

hint at possible consequences no endovascular intervention
sounded. Moreover, some clear assessment of the whole picture
There were no probabilities either. There was the phrase “It’s a bomb in the head!” And
ten minutes of typing something on the computer. It's really big
minus!
Let's return to the preoperative period. The day after
conversations between S. L. Pashnin and his wife, I had to come, since
purely psychological support was already needed and was necessary
talk about everything “pro” and “con”. Here again I am grateful to Sergei
Leonidovich - for a completely adequate and detailed explanation (including
number and with figures on operation statistics! Which I didn’t expect). After
this stones from the soul large quantities Both my wife and I got it.
After this, a successful operation to install spirals was carried out
and stent. Not a very smooth recovery from anesthesia, but nevertheless I had
there was an opportunity to personally inquire about the results from Sergei Leonidovich
operations and the condition of my beloved wife, for this there is also a separate

Upon discharge, S.L. gave detailed and very thorough instructions

In total - with S. L. Pashnin, with his consent and at his insistence
Let's continue to stay in touch, for which he is greatly appreciated
Thank you!
